Management Team & Staff
FOUNDER | EDITOR IN CHIEF
Hi! I’m Sandi and I’m a wife to Tim and mom to 5 children—3 of whom are not really children anymore! I have 4 boys (26, 23, 19, and 14) and an 8-year-old daughter. While running a magazine has always been a dream of mine, it took many years to arrive at a place of peace about stepping out in faith to begin The Joyful Life. I write at sandisutton.com and prior to starting The Joyful Life, I spent 12 years running a photography business and teaching photography workshops across the country. I’m so grateful for the ability to use the creative work experience God blessed me with toward something that will be intentionally used for His glory. This magazine is born out of a desire to encourage women to grow into a closer and deeply authentic relationship with Jesus by inviting Him wholeheartedly into their daily lives. I believe that ALL of life is ALL for Jesus and my hope is that The Joyful Life will be an inspiring reflection of that.
When I’m not managing the day to day tasks of running the magazine, you can usually find me running here, there and everywhere with my kids, watching This Is Us, working on a DIY project, reading, writing, perusing Pinterest for the very best recipes, or cooking—and always with coffee nearby. Always.
Sandi is the editor and founder of The Joyful Life and also serves as the creative director and designer for the publication and company.
Tiffany Edmonds is a writer, Bible teacher, and habitual encourager seeking to make theology tangible for our everyday. She advocates for deep intentional study of God’s Word and helps unearth biblical treasures right along with you on her personal blog at tiffanyedmonds.com.
A happy wife to her childhood friend-turned college sweetheart, mama of three daughters, homeschooler, and baker, means she’s writing in the margins and bathing in grace. For her, to live is Christ, and moment-by-moment walking in dependency on the Holy Spirit defines life’s greatest pursuit.
Dannae and her college sweetheart live in Gilbert, AZ. As a mom of three young kiddos, she loves creating a house that feels like home, and making fun and intentional experiences for her family. When Dannae isn’t spending time with the people she loves you may find her reading a book, coloring, or organizing something in her house. Hosting people for good food, drinks and games is her favorite way to spend a Friday night and she is always looking for a new way to love on others.
Her passion is to help women to experience the love of Jesus so deeply that they feel the freedom to be themselves. Writing has been a buried dream of hers for years and her role at the Joyful Life is a culmination of so many things God has placed on her heart. She couldn’t be more grateful that God led her to this ministry!
Aimee Walker is a former pastor turned writer and the founder of the On Becoming Esther blog. A kiwi girl, she lives by the beach in Auckland, New Zealand with hubby Dave and three of their four children. These days you’re most likely to find her with a strong cup of coffee in hand as she juggles the beautiful chaos of life with kids. A total word girl, but most of all a lover of His Word, Aimee is passionate about helping people understand and encounter the truth of the Scriptures so that they can live in the fullness of all God has planned and purposed for their lives.
A Scottish native, Vicki now calls Upstate New York home, where she lives with her husband and two young daughters. A writer turned editor, she loves to encourage women to pursue Jesus-centered, joy-filled living in the gloriously hard and wonderful trenches of motherhood. Being part of the Joyful Life team and community is both a blessing and a privilege, providing an opportunity for her to combine her gifts and passions in a unique and special way to speak truth into the hearts and lives of women.
In her ‘free’ time Vicki loves to consume books and strong coffee, and get outdoors to enjoy the very varied, yet consistently beautiful seasons of the Northeast. You can connect with her on Facebook, Instagram, or on her website at purposefuljoy.wordpress.com.
GRAPHIC DESIGNER & ILLUSTRATOR
Sophie and her husband Ben live in a suburb of Vancouver, Canada with their four children, whom they have homeschooled for the past nine years. Serial entrepreneurs at heart, Sophie and Ben have run home-based businesses since their college days and still enjoy taking on new ventures together when the opportunity arises. Sophie is also an aspiring novelist and the creator of www.mycuprunsover.ca, a site dedicated to helping busy women flourish in their homes, homeschools, and personal lives.
As Sandi’s Executive Assistant, she gets to combine her love of Jesus and writing with her obsession for streamlined systems and well-managed data. It’s literally a dream job!
When she’s not working, teaching, or writing, Sophie loves studying spiritual disciplines and ancient rhythms, eating chocolate and cheese (though not together), drinking decaf oat milk lattes, reading (especially historical fiction), birdwatching, going for walks, hosting parties, and decorating her house continually.
MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS ASSISTANT
Lauren is a writer and a wife to Matthew. She lives in Virginia, just outside of D.C., but has been privileged to call many cities, states, countries, and continents home. Her transient life cultivated in her a love for different people and cultures, leading her to pursue a Masters in Christian and Intercultural Studies from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
On any given day you can find her trying out new recipes with her husband, hiking in the mountains, cuddling with her rescue pup, or working on perfecting her latte art. Lauren writes as a way to care for people and to point to the Word and what is true about God. She is particularly passionate about writing on the intersection between suffering and faith, and writes openly about how God’s goodness and grace has met her during her experiences with depression, doubt, and infertility. You can find her writing at lauren-bowerman.com or on Instagram.
